The symposium is addressed to undergraduate and graduate students, national and international research professors and those interested in its thematic lines. As well as companies and civil society organizations interested in the conservation of plant species in the NW of Ecuador, since the symposium Synergistic strategies for in situ and ex situ conservation of endangered plant populations in NW Ecuador’s biodiversity hotspot is of an academic and divulgative nature. Those interested in participating can do so as attendees by completing the registration form and by paying the symposium fee.
Fee
The cost of the symposium includes two lunches, a dinner, an artistic event, simultaneous translation service and a certificate of attendance for 20 academic hours. In addition, the Walder Foundation, financier of the Project “Improving ex situ plant conservation: scaling up zoo pedigree management approaches to critically rare plants in the Pacific Rim”, will provide all participants with a corporate branded event kit that includes:
Please, during the event we ask you to bring your mug with you to stock up on water or coffee at the coffee stations of the event, as the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Sede Santo Domingo, venue of the symposium, follows a zero plastic policy. Additionally, to enter the university campus you must present your ID card or Passport upon entry.

Santo Domingo de los Colorados is a city located in the northwest of Ecuador in a tropical rainy climate zone, at an altitude of 655 m.a.s.l. It has an average temperature of 22.9°C (73.2°F), an annual rainfall of 3000 to 4000 mm and an average humidity of 91%. In March heavy rains are expected so we recommend the use of comfortable, simple clothing and bring an umbrella or waterproof accessories.
